I will definitely play with those lining techniques. I'm not usually one for lining, as my upper lip is larger than my lower lip and has a quite exaggerated bow. I usually apply lipstick without much thought.

I will say that years ago, when my face was rounder, a makeup artist "squared" my lower lip when applying the lipstick--I'm not sure if she did so with face shape in mind, but it did subtly balance my face.
