These past few weeks have flown by in a whirlwind, and I've hardly had time to catch my breath, let alone visit with my blogging friends! I hope you forgive my absence, and I promise to get back on track with regular posts :-)
Over the weekend I had a chance to shoot with my good friend, Matt Carson. We always have a great time, and I always love the shots he takes! He has a fantastic eye for color, don't you think?
The first outfit I wore was a red reproduction midriff sweater by Dixabilly, paired with navy blue sailor shorts from F21 (you can't see my shoes in this shot, but I'm wearing a pair of 40s red leather platforms trimmed in brass nailheads.) The second outfit I wore was the 1950s gingham cotton dress I scored in Tucson recently, paired with my "grown-up Dorothy" Betseyville heels. I also had the chance to wear a stellar 1940s-50s peach and gray Hawaiian playsuit, borrowed from Matilda's Closet, along with a matching pair of coral heels from Urban Outfitters. As you can see, the weather is still quite warm here!
I look forward to catching up with everyone!

Fabulous photos! Indeed, Matt has great eye for color combination!

Boy does red suit you! Wonderful photographs!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I must say the gingham dress is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteIt's still super warm here too :o)
Beautiful photos! You look fantastic in these. x
ReplyDeleteLock your door, I'm going to steal that fabulous gingham dress !!!!
ReplyDeleteI really like the dress in the 2nd picture. I also agree with all your other readers the red really does pop in all of your photos.
ReplyDeleteYou look lovely! The red shoes are cute! I love Betseyville and Betsey Johnson shoes! I have a pair of aqua blue suede platforms from Betsey Johnson that I adore! The playsuit and the gingham dress are fabo!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, all!
ReplyDeleteRed is probably my all-time favorite color to wear, and the Dixabilly sweater is the perfect shade of cherry. It's such a fantastic 40s bolero too--I wear this one and my yellow one all the time. I highly recommend them!
Jaede--I just adored the dress you wore to the Comicon show--you'd better watch out too ;-)
Lady Betty--those sound so cute! I was at the mall for a bit today, and saw a cute pair of teal suede heels that had a great vintage vibe. I think they were by Jessica Simpson, of all things! I may have to go back to take a closer look, not that I need another pair of shoes :-)
Q--you know we're gonna have to visit again soon, the lure of Nashville is just too much :-)
These are all so gorgeous! I love the second dress and red shoes especially; very snazzy. ;)

What stunning photos! I'm sure you get this a lot, but you really look like you just walked out of a technicolor film from 1950.
ReplyDeleteOh, and that playsuit's to die for!!
You look absolutely lovely! Red is my favorite color to wear too, and apparently it lokos good on me too, so it's a win win situation. :)
ReplyDeleteI was wondering if you had any photos of your hair unset? And if you do pincurls or sponge rollers or what? (Can't remember if you mentioned somewhere on your blog) See, I just got my hair cut, and I'm hoping to get an effect somewhat like yours. But I was wondering if I could see how long yours is naturally and if it's straight or curly or whatever. Sorry if it's too much of a bother! :)
Thanks again, ladies :-) I sure do appreciate you stopping by to comment!
ReplyDeleteKir--I use foam sticks or perm rods to cold set my hair. My hair is just above shoulder length currently, and I find this length holds a set the best for me. I will have a basic hair tutorial out in the next couple of weeks (I'm finishing up another project right now, and plan on working on a hair video after that), so be sure to check back :-)
beautiful as always. your skin always looks so milky and flawless.
ReplyDeletegreat set. The ff-nylons make a difference:-)
