Redheaded Woman
This week I ventured over to redhead territory with the help of my good friends Veronica and Lana. Inspired by Veronica's lush ginger locks, I decided to try out the copper shade I've always longed for, and my two friends were happy to help! So, what do you think? The color is only temporary, but I've quite enjoyed my time as a redheaded woman!
Matt Carson took these photos out at Goldfield--I'm wearing a 1950s peach and brown lace peasant blouse and skirt set, a Christmas gift from my parents this year, that turned out to be the perfect complement to my warmer hair color. The shoes are my standby "sweater" pumps, and although you can't really see them, I'm wearing a pair of copper earrings.
xoxo,
Amanda Lee

You make an adorable redhead! And wow, your top/skirt set is really gorgeous; what a lovely present!!
ReplyDeleteWOW! Stunning!
ReplyDeleteYour hair looks freakin amazing! What fun it must be to have a different hair color! Mine is black-jet black so any other color would be difficult to get bc it would have to be stripped of its color first. Although there are wigs to be played with hehehe Great photos too!! xox
ReplyDeleteLuv it! Maybe a permanent change.....for a little while?
ReplyDeleteOh I love it! I've been slowly adding more red over the past year & I think next time I go in, I'm just going for a light auburn red and not have my as much of my natural blonde mixed in. It's still a bit odd to get used to since it's so dark compared to my natural color but it's a nice change (that can always be slightly tweaked if I ever panic over it!)
ReplyDeleteThe red looks so lovely on you, and so vibrant! Can I ask what color you used?
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone! It was a fun experiment, I'll be a redhead for another day and then I'll wash the color out for now. In the future I may take my hair slightly more strawberry blonde, my hairdresser mentioned that he could apply a semi-permanent tint that would wash out in 7-8 shampoos, and I may test this out the next time I go in :-)
ReplyDeleteI used Roux Fanciful in Lucky Copper, both the liquid and the mousse. It worked quite well, having very blonde hair to start with helped for sure, but it worked equally well on my friend whose hair is a darker honey blonde. Definitely a good way to test out a new shade!
Rita Hayworth's got nothing on you! Great shots!
ReplyDeleteThis hair colour suits soo good for you :)
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted vibrant red hair, but since doing a bad home dye job and turning my roots ginger, I'm not sure the look's for me...! x
ReplyDeletebeautiful color and it gives you, I'd love to have the courage to do it myself.
ReplyDeleteIt is DIVINE. You should keep it for a while. I am v envious, I look terrible as a redhead.
ReplyDeleteWow! You look ravishing, darling! Gorgeous as both a platinum blonde and a redhead.
ReplyDeleteLove it!!! I'm blonde and I tried redhead some years ago and it was hard to keep a nice color with a blond shade underneath...The color was great the 2 first weeks and after my blonde shade came back... but with a dirty shade....
ReplyDeleteLOVE it!!! I am so wanting to go a bit copper/red as well!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous! Suits you to a tee :)
ReplyDeleteI think it suits you very well! I wish I had the bottle to change to a shade a bit like yours but everyone tells me NO.... but I think they are right!!!
ReplyDeleteTups x
I love it, you look very Scottish :) I think I like this vibrant red better than I would a strawberry blond, you can definitely carry it off.
ReplyDeleteWe blogged about this fabulous raven new look Amanda. You should really consider keeping it. It suits you so well.Though its probably hard to keep - it's worth doing a video with this color. Happy new year !x
ReplyDeleteThis color looks very nice on you, but I like the blond a lot better. There are actually so very few women on whom platinum blond hair looks so nice, and you are one of the lucky ones!
ReplyDeleteMaria
This is beautiful. My favorite color on me as well. :)
ReplyDeleteSuits you perfectly! But what not? :)
ReplyDeleteI really love the red hair on you. Both blonde and red work for you.
